Sports Medicine
Sports Medicine is the branch of medicine that specializes in the prevention and treatment of injuries and illness resulting from the training for and participation
in athletic activities, as well as in the maintenance of a healthy, active lifestyle. Our team of specialty physicians, surgeons, and physical therapists at the
Orthopedic Institute of New Jersey are regionally recognized for their expertise and outstanding care, and has provided medical support for numerous professional,
collegiate and high school sports teams throughout the tri-state area.
General Orthopedic Care
Orthopedics is the medical specialty devoted to the diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of injuries and diseases of your musculoskeletal system. This
complex system includes your bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles, and nerves, and allows you to move, work and be active. The Orthopedic Institute of New Jersey
provides a wide spectrum of surgical and non-surgical care for all your sports, work-related and everyday musculoskeletal injuries.
Surgery
Our surgeons at the Orthopedic Institute of New Jersey specialize in the most advanced surgical orthopedic and spine procedures: from arthroscopy and the newest
minimally invasive techniques, to total joint replacement and complex spine procedures. Their expertise and extensive experience translates into better results and
fewer complications for our patients.
Non-Surgical Treatment
Surgery is not the appropriate or preferred treatment for many of our patients. Our physicians at the Orthopedic Institute of New Jersey listen to and work closely
with their patients to develop a customized course of non-surgical treatments, which may include various options such as medication, therapeutic exercise, injections,
and physical therapy.
Pain Management
Our pain management physicians are board certified and fellowship trained in physical medicine and rehabilitation, and anesthesiology. They specialize in the medical management and are also highly skilled in the most current interventional techniques for controlling pain. These include transforaminal/translaminar epidurals, selective nerve root, facet blocks, Botox, peripheral nerve injections, trigger point injections and sympathetic blockade. More specialized procedures such as implantable narcotic pumps, spinal cord stimulators, and radiofrequency neurolytic techniques are also available. All injections are performed with fluoroscopic guidance assuring accurate injections. Emphasis is on compassion, pain control and the patient’s return to normal functioning.
Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy is a health care profession based in the science of motion. Patients who have suffered injury or disease affecting the muscles, bones, ligaments, or
tendons can benefit tremendously from treatment by a physical therapist. The experience and expertise of our certified staff at the Orthopedic Institute of New
Jersey has helped our patients restore function and strength. Working closely with the physicians, our therapists provide patients with well rounded programs of
rehabilitation, education, prevention, and fitness.
